The first time I saw Sharon Kent demonstrate the 18 Movement Qigong, I knew
immediately that was the exercise I had been searching for. It not only looked
easy to do, it is. The next week I enrolled in her weekly class. That was many
years ago. Today I practice qigong 4-5 times a week at home using Sharon's
video in combination with a 30 minute walk.

I didn't realize how great the benefits are to practicing 18 Movement Qigong
untilI stopped for a while. It was only then that I knew what Sharon always said
is true...this is the easiest Qigong to do and derive the greatest health benefits.
Anyone can do it, even those who may be wheelchair bound.

From the inner strength and energy that 18 Movement Qigong generates I have
been able to ward off colds and flu (I haven't had one in two years), alleviate
chronic aches and pain, minimize menopausal symptoms. In many ways I feel
I have been able to reconnect to the young girl I once was.

Recently someone asked me how I have time to do this. I actually have gained
time by walking for 30 minutes and practicing 18 Movement Qigong for 15
minutes and get to work by 8 am! A half hour earlier than I did before.

18 Movement Qigong is not only an exercise program it is a way of life for
anyone who wants to maximize your physical, emotional and spiritual potential.
I not only plan on not stopping. I want to help others begin.

For over the past twenty years, I have been interested in Eastern forms of
exercise. During that time I tried various forms but was left feeling unsatisfied.
Dead ends and disillusionment continued for several years until I took Sharon's
class. She held the answer to my search. The 18 movement Qigong was
exactly what I had been searching for.

Qigong has enabled me to balance two very stressful jobs: both dealing with
the public. Through Qigong, I have been able to "go to another place" and
regroup and revitalize myself. By practicing 18 Movement Qigong each morning,
I feel "protected" physically, mentally and spiritually during my busy day.

Besides the spiritual and physical benefits, Qigong has helped me medically.
One night I woke up with terrible stomach pains . So instead, I sat in a chair
and concentrated on Dan Tian. It took a lot of visualization and concentration
but it did work. Not only did the pain go away, but also I was able to go back
to sleep and get up and go to work the next day. The pain never came back.

Then four years ago, I went to the eye doctor and had a check-up. At the time
he prescribed a stronger prescription and we talked about possible alternatives
in the future. A year later, I went back to him and, to my delight, he said my
eyes were fine and, in fact, they had improved, so he prescribed a weaker
prescription. I just had my eye exam for this year, my eyesight again improved.
I believe if it wasn't for Qigong, my eyesight would not have improved.

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 2 ½ years ago. 18 Movement Qigong helps
me to stretch my muscles in a gentle way and makes me more flexible. I can
feel Qi moving around my body and trying to heal it. I am always pain free when
I practice 18 Movement Qigong.

I now cannot imagine my life without 18 Movement Qigong. It has changed me
so much.

A traumatic experience of losing a loved one can leave a person who is
unprepared to face such a disaster almost like a "basket case." That was my
fate in 1996 when my husband of 51 years was taken away from me without
warning by a sudden and fatal heart attack.

That traumatic shock seemed to cause my whole body and mind to fall apart.
However, worst of all I wasn't able to sleep. That contributed to violent pain in
my arms, back, and legs, which eventually "landed me in the hospital" in
December of 1997. Tests proved that there was nothing radically wrong with
me, but neither medical help nor other treatments gave me anything more
than temporary relief. Outwardly I tried to present a positive appearance, but
inwardly I couldn't really cope! Finally, in February of 1999, I saw a Qigong
course presented by Sharon Kent. After the one-hour demonstration and
lecture, I enrolled in her course. However, the 20-minute drive from my home
to the class frightened me because I had become panicky driving myself after
my husband's death. But now I had no choice, as it was a necessity. Four
months later, I had gained enough confidence that I drove alone for more than
60 miles one Saturday. Then on Sunday I drove back home alone and without
incident. The shackles that had seemingly enslaved me for almost three years
had been broken.

18 Movement Qigong has benefited my whole well-being: I can sleep more
restfully now; the mobility of my feet and legs has improved; and, most of all,
I have developed a peace within myself, an inner confidence and assurance
that I can continue to live life alone in a secure way. The therapy of 18
Movement Qigong is one that should be actively pursued, not only in the
classroom but also at home alone several times a week to maintain that zest
for life.

I have received more consistent energy from 18 movement Qigong practice. I
usually do my practice after first waking up and it helps me to prepare for the
day. My muscles become alive and I am clearing my mind of negative thoughts.
Also after a back operation, 18 Movement Qigong helped with my rehabilitation.
I believe my recovery period was shortened through the practice of 18 Movement
Qigong.

I came to class five weeks ago taking Xanax, a tranquilizer, four times a day to
help control my anxiety and panic attacks. My therapist advised me to attend
18 Movement Qigong class, which I did with next to no knowledge of Qigong
and its theories.

It was hard to believe that such gentle movements could effect much, but each
class would be like a work-out for "the inside of me." I looked forward to each
class more and more.

Today I am completely off Xanax with little or no anxiety, and I believe that 18
Movement Qigong has played a big part of this. I see Qigong as a vital piece
of the puzzle toward my healing, both physically and emotionally.

When I practice 18 Movement Qigong, I feel like I am in a cocoon of warmth.
I feel that my being is more than my body, a beautiful feeling of dancing with
nature.

Since I have been doing the exercise, I have had less sinus/allergy/headache
problems, and less stomach problems.

I feel assured that with ongoing practice many other minor disorders will also
improve.
